This is what my husband would look like with bangs. We're still weighing our options. What do you think?
Love and a really low cut dress (oops),

Nook-ish-ness
This is a good nook, if I do say so myself. It is the tiny area right inside our front door. Somehow, we manage to keep it pretty clean...ok...somehow, it is the only corner of our house that manages to stay pretty much completely spotless. When "life" gets really messy, this nook brings about a lot of comfort. If you ever find me curled up in a tiny ball in this nook of ours, then you know things have gotten really "iffy."
What's the magically cleaniest* part of your house?
Love and a magically clean nook,
H.
*I don't think "cleaniest" is really a word.

It's FAIRly Nice or, a to-do list
Well, well, well. This week is my Fair Break. That's right. We get off a week for the Fair. We've tried keeping school in session in the past, but guess what- no one came. They were all busy combing sheep and feeding chickens and showing goats. It's awesome. Don't hate.
This week, I'd like to do the following:
-paint our bathroom (so excited!)
-hem a jacket I found at Goodwill last year (pictures to follow!)
-rearrange my office
-sort my shoes/rearrange coat/shoe closet
-research starting an etsy shop
-run to petsmart to get new tags for the dogs
I'm sure there are about a million other tiny little things, but let's take it slow this week. Come on, it's The Fair.
Oh yea, and I'd like to ride the Ferris Wheel. I'm also in the market for a goat to pet and a deep fried pickle. Hoo-ray and Yee-haw!
For Motivation/inspiration, click here.
Love,
H.
I'd also like to give a "shout out" to Katie. She is a super sweet new blogger I found. According to her 100th post, we share a love of Friends, Calvin and Hobbes, and long earrings. She recently gave Yours Truly an award. I don't have the time right now to tag/comment 10 other people (I'll explain later), but I really wanted to say a big ole' thanks to Miss Katie. :)

My Baby Takes the Morning Train
Well, I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I have fallen in love with this city. It has some incredibly unique and historic little boroughs. A miniature New York, if you will. Last night, we ventured out to a burger joint called Terry's Turf Club. Our house is sandwiched right in between The City and my school district waaayyy out in the country. It leaves me with a 45-50 minute commute.
However, I am unendingly glad our living conditions make it possible for us to explore the little nooks and crannies of possibility* this city has to offer. If and when we ever move, we need to start a Family Tradition that involves us making the hour long drive from our tiny farm town back to the city.
Basically, we love it here.
My days span the width of nearly two counties (three on days like yesterday). There is traffic. There is crummy weather. There are bad drivers. Yesterday, it took me an hour. But nights like last night make it so worth it.
Can you see the cute little movie theater seats outside?
It was noisy. It was hot. It was crowded.
And it was a beautiful night out.
Love and extra pickles,
H.
P.S. *It took me three tries to spell possibility.
P.S.S. Don't forget about the Giveaway!

Burger on the Run
Today, I saw a cow running. It was running, and it was adorable. I realized I had never seen anything like this before. It was such a funny sight to behold. Have you ever seen this? Is it just me?
Love and eating less red meat,
H.

Birds on a wire, Part Two
Lately, I've been pretty obsessed with birds on a wire. Here are some goodies I found while doing some research! Just for the record, I love it all and can't even pick a favorite. The display over the couch? A must. The hot pink clutch? Yes. Please.
Birds on a wire...? Who knew?

Happy 100th!
Holy Cow. Let's cut to the chase.
This is my Blog's 100th Post!!!
When the idea to do a giveaway for this very occasion popped up in my brain, I knew exactly who I wanted to contact. Her name is Amy and she has an adorable little etsy called "Stellar Relics." You should check it out here!
I met her last year at a festival of sorts and doted over all her wonderful goods (one of my purchases can be seen below!) I got 1,005 compliments on it last time I wore it...I counted!
I love her pieces because they are so adorable and unique. I also love that she does her best to keep her costs down. Her site is the perfect place to spend some rainy day money.
In fact, I'd love to get on and order a few things just as soon as I have a dollar or two to spare. I'm not going to tell you which ones lest you beat me to it and swipe them up first! Okay, okay, I'll give you a hint...they are photographed below! Don't sweat it if you beat me to the punch...these things are too cute to just sit around! You must snatch them up, you must!
Your second little prize is your very own box of my new-fall-favorite...Lipton Vanilla Caramel Truffle Black Tea!
So...here's all you have to do.
-Leave a comment telling me your LEAST favorite month and how you plan to redeem it this year. Example: January is oh-so-hard for me. I plan to boldly claim this month as my own by reading the Twilight books and attempting to sew my very own skirt!
AND/OR tell me your favorite Stellar Relics item! (If you do it in a separate comment, it will act as an EXTRA entry!)
If you don't have a Google Account, just leave an anonymous comment, but please be sure to tell us WHO you are should you be the lucky winner!
The winner will be chosen via random.org and announced next SUNDAY!
Good luck and Happy Blog-day to Yours Truly!

Tiny bananas!?!?!?!
Anyway, Amy was kind enough to send a pair of earrings our way, and they are yours for the taking (kind of)!
They look so good if you are wearing a pony tail....not that I would know. I didn't try-them-on-immediately-and-disinfect-them-afterward or anything like that. Who, me? This morning I learned it is VERY hard to photograph good earrings. I will give you my 'best' shots...if that's what you want to call them. See? They even came in a pretty package! Your second little prize is your very own box of my new-fall-favorite...Lipton Vanilla Caramel Truffle Black Tea!

A Very Tiny Speck
Dear Future Kiddo,
Last night, I dreamed about you. You were a boy. The doctors took you away and I couldn't see you for a long time. I got dressed. I looked for you, and then I found you in the hallway. I cried my head off because I was so happy. I wanted to take you home. We named you Grayson after your father. The more I thought about it, the more I really liked that idea. I wanted to call you "Gray" for short. Gray. The color of all the roads you will travel during your lifetime.
And even though I woke up to my normal life- without you- and I kissed your father and I made coffee and I rushed out the door per usual, thoughts of you rolled around in my head all day.
One of my favorite authors says that he envisions God walking toward him down a dirt path. He says He started out as a tiny speck, but He is getting closer. He says that someday, he will see the lines on His face.
You and I? I think we are the same way.
My name is Holly Bierly Young, and something really weird is happening.
Love and other weird stuff,
H.
P.S. Just for the record, even with all this being said, if I wind up pregnant within the next year, I'll be just as surprised as you.

I've Got The Blues
I think now would be a good time to tell you how much I love the color blue. I can't wait to see the contrast of orange leaves against a hot blue sky with maybe a fluffy cloud or two.
Meh, this is love.
What's your fave?
Feeling quite BLUE,
H.

Our Friend, Rich
When Tim and I went to Nashville, we visited The Frist Center and had a fantastic time. We happened to catch The Golden Age of Couture Exhibit- lots of vintage dresses, corsets, and the like. I nearly cried I was so happy. Tim was a very good sport. He is a nice husband.
Anyway, while there, I discovered (and fell in love with) a photographer named Richard Avedon. He's brilliant. His work made me want a different life. I mean that in such a good way. I just don't know how to explain it. Maybe you can do it better. I think if I was 10 years younger, I would become a photographer, and when people would ask me what made me want to become a photographer, I would say, "The work of Richard Avedon."
You must research him. You must. This post hardly did him justice.
Love and new favorite artists,
H.
P.S. I'm asking for his books for Christmas, and I've been really good this year. Just so you know.
