Lie #4,682

     One lie that the devil tells me is that if I stop worrying about things, that will mean I am not responsible.

Worrying= responsibility.

The falsehood of this statement is a hard concept for me.

Well, either way, his math is wrong.

      “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

     “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?’” (Luke 12:22-26, NIV). (Also see Matthew 6:25-34)

Well, in that case- hooray.

Those are verses to read EVERYDAY!! Speaking of prayer...A friend and I talk all the time about how, when we worry, we need to make a conscious effort to stop and instead PRAY about it. Harder said than done, but what a great habit to get into! I need that habit!

I really like that last picture.
It's hard not to worry, I think that's part of our human nature.
It's hard to know that the Lord has our good in mind, that he provides, and he will never forsake us. I believe it, but it's hard to live it. Love the verses. :)

This is something God has been teaching me so beautifully over the past couple of years. It is SO my inclination to worry but it is by his grace that he's shown me what that "peace of God" feels like. Which has been such a gift because I think to myself, "I know my heart's desire IS to worry about this, but instead I feel complete and unexplainable peace. PRAISE THE LORD!!" :)
